Frequently Asked Questions - Basic RiderCourse 2 License Waiver (1 day training)
1. Price Matching at GO: The Rules Made Simple!
Absolutely! GO offers price matching for classes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. But here's the catch: we'll only match classes that are available on the same date you want to sign up for. It's a NO-GO if the competitor's class isn't on the same date or if it's full or unavailable. Make sure to process your price match at the same time as registration, and provide proof of the lower price. Our price matching can't team up with other discounts or offers, and unfortunately, we can't match gift certificates or Groupon deals. Happy price matching!
2. Experienced Rider, No License? No Problem!
Absolutely! The Basic RiderCourse 2, License Waiver curriculum has got your back. It's now an 8-hour course that qualifies for a License Waiver. Complete it successfully, and you'll get a Motorcycle Completion Card (MSB-8), the golden ticket to adding an M endorsement on your driver's license.
3. Basic RiderCourse vs. Basic RiderCourse 2: What's the Difference?
Easy! In the Basic RiderCourse, you learn the basics of riding a motorcycle. But in the Basic RiderCourse 2, those skills get a makeover. The basic RiderCourse is for complete beginners, while the Basic RiderCourse 2 expects you to have at least 6 months or 3,000 miles of on-road experience. It's all about taking your existing skills up a notch!
4. Do I Need Basic RiderCourse Before Basic RiderCourse 2?
Not mandatory, but here's the deal: Basic RiderCourse 2 is designed to enhance your skills, so you should already have the basics down. If you're not confident in straight line riding, stopping, weaving, or handling curves, consider starting with the basic RiderCourse.
5. What Will I Learn?
Get ready to level up your riding game! You'll master advanced turning, braking, and swerving. Say goodbye to putting your feet down during tight turns. Learn the latest accident avoidance skills, and fine-tune good riding habits while spotting the bad ones. We'll also teach you street strategies and special situations. Most importantly, you'll have a blast!
6. Pre-Course Training: What's Required?
Yes, there is pre-course training. All Basic RiderCourse 2 License Waiver students must complete the Street Strategies eCourse online before attending class. It's a 2-hour online program for riders with basic skills and experience. Covering everything from gear to emergency maneuvers, it's a great way to kickstart your training at home. You'll need to finish it before class and bring the completion certificate with you.
7. Using Your Motorcycle or Ours?
You have the choice! You can use your licensed and registered motorcycle for the Basic RiderCourse 2. Just bring proof of insurance and perform a T-CLOCS inspection. If you don't have a motorcycle or it's not available, we've got you covered with our bikes.
8. What to Bring to Class
Don't forget to gear up! You'll need a long-sleeve shirt, long sturdy pants, ankle-covering shoes/boots, and eye protection (sunglasses, eyeglasses, or goggles). Bring your DOT-approved helmet and gloves. If you don't have them, we can provide loaners. And, don't leave home without your completion certificate for the "Street Strategies" course.
9. Insurance Discount: Does It Apply?
You're in luck! Many insurance providers offer discounts for completing the course. Check with your provider for all the details.
10. Ticket While Riding: Can This Course Help?
If you've received a ticket while riding, with court approval, the Basic RiderCourse 2 can count as a Defensive Driving Course for ticket adjudication. Make sure to check with your court first.
11. Motorcycle Club Group Enrollment
Absolutely! This course is ideal for road captains and group riders. You and your motorcycle club can enjoy it together.
12. Refund/Cancellation Policy
Need to reschedule? Give us 72 hours' notice. Less than 72 hours, and there's a $50 rescheduling fee. If you no-show without notice, you forfeit your tuition. The course is non-refundable, but we can process refunds for emergency situations if we're notified 48 hours before class starts. Administrative fees may apply.
13. Can You Fail This Course?
It's important to have several months of riding experience in various situations. You must master turns, figure 8's, and more. There's a skills assessment before the class starts, and if you don't pass, you won't be allowed in. You can reschedule for the Basic RiderCourse at a reduced fee if needed. No refunds for not passing. To get the MSB-8 for a License waiver, you'll need to pass a skills test.
